Coordinator, Local Child Care
Planning Council,
Mariposa County,

Responsibilities:
As the Coordinator for the Mariposa Local Child
Care Planning Council I am responsible for the
general operation of the Council. I am also
responsible for preparing and distributing agendas
and minutes in accordance with the Brown Act.
The Coordinator is responsible for organizing
and implementing activities as outlined in our 5
Year Strategic Plan as well as numerous public
outreach activities.
The Coordinator continues to bring awareness
about the importance of child care by serving on,
and being active on, numerous entities such as the
Child Abuse Prevention Council, the Head Start
Policy Council, the Early Start Interagency
Coalition, and the Community Action Agency Advisory
Council.
Other Duties:
Other duties include attending state and local
meetings, disseminating information pertaining to
child care issues to the community. The Coordinator
works closely with other entities in the community,
as well as child care providers and parents who use
child care, to better insure access to quality
child care for all families throughout the
county.

I have been with the Mariposa Child Care
Planning Council, as an assistant, since
its inception in 1997. I worked under two
amazing Coordinators over the years. They
taught me well and was offered the
position myself in August of 2004.
