Responsibilities:
The Santa Barbara County Early Care and Education
Coordinator (Manager, First 5 Office of Early Care
and Education) provides county-wide leadership on
early care and education (ECE) efforts to increase
the quality, quantity, and affordability of early
care and education services in Santa Barbara County
through infrastructure building and systems
change;
Plans, directs, and manages the activities of
the Office of Early Care and Education (OECE)
including the supervision of OECE staff ,
budgeting, and the development of financial
resources;
Leads the First 5 Early Care and
Education Initiative;
Coordinates county-wide ECE
efforts; establishes and maintains partnerships
engages public and private sector to support child
care development and ECE policies; serves on local
and statewide committees;
Collaborates with other
ECE entities to achieve goals; promotes community
education and involvement in early care and
education; collects, analyzes, and disseminates
early care and education data.
